عدن تختصر الحكاية … اتحاد نساء عدن يصنعن الأمل في ختام حملة الـ16 يوما لمناهضة العنف

في إطار اختتام الأنشطة والفعاليات المصاحبة لحملة 16 يوما لمناهضة العنف المبني على النوع الاجتماعي، وتتويجا لها نظم اتحاد نساء عدن البازار السنوي ومعرض الصور الفوتوغرافية “عدن في سطور”، تأكيدا على دور المرأة في صناعة التغيير المجتمعي ونشر ثقافة السلام.
وخلال الحفل، ألقت رئيسة اتحاد نساء عدن كلمة رحبت فيها بالحاضرين، مؤكدة التزام الاتحاد الدائم بالدفاع عن حقوق المرأة وخدمتها في مختلف الظروف.
وأشارت إلى أن الحرب والأوضاع الصعبة التي تمر بها البلاد ألقت بظلالها السلبية على المرأة، و أسهمت في تصاعد العنف بكافة أشكاله، بما في ذلك الابتزاز الإلكتروني كأحد أنماط العنف المستحدثة.
و أوضحت أن الاتحاد يعمل وفق خطة استراتيجية تهدف إلى التمكين الاقتصادي للنساء، وتوفير فرص عمل تمكن المرأة من الاعتماد على نفسها و إعالة أسرتها.
أكدت ممثلة هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة، السيدة دينا زوربا، سعادتها بالمشاركة في هذه الفعالية التي ينظمها اتحاد نساء عدن، مشيدة بدوره في دعم النساء و تمكينهن، ومؤكدة على أهمية تعزيز الشراكة مع منظمات المجتمع المدني لخدمة قضايا المرأة.
موكده على ضرورة مواصلة الجهود المشتركة للتوعية بمخاطر العنف، وتعزيز ثقافة الحقوق والمساواة، وبناء مجتمع أكثر عدلا وإنصافا.
Aden in a Nutshell… Aden Women’s Union Brings Hope at the Conclusion of the 16-Day Campaign to End Gender-Based Violence

As part of the conclusion of activities accompanying the 16-Day Campaign to End Gender-Based Violence, the Aden Women’s Union organized its annual bazaar and the photo exhibition “Aden in Lines”, highlighting the role of women in driving social change and promoting a culture of peace.
During the ceremony, the President of the Aden Women’s Union delivered a speech welcoming the attendees and reaffirming the Union’s ongoing commitment to defending women’s rights and serving them under all circumstances. She noted that the ongoing war and the difficult conditions in the country have negatively affected women, contributing to the rise of various forms of violence, including online harassment, as a newly emerging form of abuse.
She also explained that the Union operates according to a strategic plan aimed at economically empowering women and providing job opportunities to enable them to support themselves and their families.
UN Women Representative, Ms. Dina Zorba, expressed her happiness in participating in this event organized by the Aden Women’s Union. She praised its role in supporting and empowering women and emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations to serve women’s causes. She also stressed the need to continue joint efforts to raise awareness of gender-based violence, promote a culture of rights and equality, and build a fairer and more just society.
